i have bad feet problems (navicular bones) and my doctors have told me to take tylenol, ibuprofen (advil), motrin, or aleve:
i have taken the tylenol, very naucious
i have taken ibuprofen, and i threw up along with being nauseous for 3 days.
i took aleve for 3 days, and i threw up as well, and was nauseous for 5 days. along with i had high liver enzymes from a blood test.
i took motrin, and i threw up and was nauseous for 3 days.
basically, i think i could be allergic to these medicines. i took these medicines all in one month. i used to be able to take them without feeling these way. i followed all instructions on the back, ate with the medicine, and did everything right. i never took the medicines at the same time or with any things else (alchohol, drugs, and other over the counter medicines).
what should i do? should i talk to my doctor? HELP PLEASE! (14 year old girl).
also, i am allergic to dilaudid (high pain medicine), i found out last year during my appendectomy surgery. highly allergic! |

check the date on the medicine in case they are out of date. it is possible that the same agent which causes you to be allergic to dilaudid is in the other medicines, ask your GP. If it is urgent ask your parents' advice, or perhaps ring up an advice line: there may be a number provided on the medicine leaflet. hope you feel better |

Vomiting is not considered an allergic reaction - it is a GI (gastrointestinal) intolerance for these medications. You need to be discussing this with your physician and there are other options rather than these anti-inflammatories (NSAIDS) that might help with your feet. Have you ever tried some glucosamine with chondroitin - it might also help you but talk with your doctor about this first. You probably have some sort of gastritis going on right now and no NSAIDS are going to stay down in your stomach. |
