were 15 and my friends really unpopular at school. Im not exactly the most popular either. My friend, sarah, has always wanted to be one of the cool kids who go to late parties,get drunk,use drugs ect.
She cant go to parties because no one invites her,the only alchahol in her house is occasionaly her mums wine and she doesnt like it.
She told me last week she hates her life and she's having a hard childhood so she's using drugs. She invited me to her house to show me.
She's got a collection of 'drug alternatives'
she rolls herbal tea up in some sort of paper,lights it with a match and gets 'high' on it. She 'injects' herself with nesquick. But the dangerous thing is she gets a sewing needle and puts this glue stuff on it,then dips it in nesquick till its stuck then she stabs the needle into her arm. She sniffs talc powder as if its cocain.
She overdoses on headache tablets aswell.
Im scared,its like she's proud. she goes to school saying to people she smokes and takes drugs. But she doesnt tell them SHES SMOKING TEA AND INJECTING HERSELF WITH NESQUICK!! The rough people at school start giving her respect. She just does this more and more now and shje posted herself on youtube getting 'stoned' on herbal tea but she said in the vid it was weed.
I talk to her and say its crazy but she says Im just boring and never take risks.
She's gone completly mad,she said if i tell her parents she'll hate me forever,##
what do i do PLEASE help weve been friends for years, also what sort of damage is she doing to herself with the nesquick,tea ect? i want to show her so she belives me its dangerous??

What? Getting high on nesquick? what the heck...
Ur friend is not getting high or anything cuz hello it's tea & nesquick! But that thing with the needle is not good, she could get an infection. And don't worry about the headache pills, you would know if she took an overdose.
But you should tell her parents, even if she'll hate you for a bit. At some point she'll thank you. But even if it's really hard to tell them, you should do it anyways cuz it's really for the best!

Just so you know, it won't take her too long to get to the real drugs. When she does are you still going to be hanging out with the drug addicted version of your friend? You're better off without her unless you like the idea of heading down that road yourself. |

It sounds like your friend is taking some serious risks to get attention. I don't know if smoking tea will hurt her but stabbing herself with needles coated with glue and Nesquick, she could be setting herself up for some serious infection. Obviously, this girl has some serious issues and she needs some help. I know ratting her out to her parents seems like the worst thing to do when you're a teen. But it may be what you need to do in order to get her some help. If you have a teacher or counselor at school that you're close to, talk it over with them and get some advice. Or talk to your parents, pastor or an adult you trust. You need some advice on what to do from someone who knows more about the situation. |

Ok....if this is for real you need to just tell her parents, yes she might fall out with you but the main concern should be her mental and emotional health, she needs someone to help her realise that what she's doing is stupid, whilst most of the things she's doing aren't going to do anything to her (esp not get her high!) it might turn into something worse. Plus talc is a pretty weird thing to be snorting, pretty sure that might suffocate her if she does too much.
Tell her parents or a grown up you trust, maybe your own parents, and get her some help, and remind her that you'll both be finished at school soon if you're 15, so go to college and start afresh and make some decent friends who don't only respect you if you're doing drugs

The people on here responding with disbelief or cruelty would better serve this girl if they said nothing at all.
Truth is stranger than fiction; i've seen and heard weirder things.
Maybe it is made up, but can you risk that and further bully these girls with your comments. Were/are you bullies at school? Well, I'm a bigger bully, so i suggest you F off back to your boring "normal" life where no-one does anything weird or needs any help.
In response to the question, this is truly worrying. She is quite disturbed and needs support, more than you can offer I'm afraid. You are a truly good friend and she will thank you one day. It might be scary to tell your parents but it is the right thing to do. However, I am not convinced it is a good idea for HER parents to know.... there may be unknown reasons behind this behaviour. You really are in a difficult situation.
Perhaps advise her that the needle is dirty and could infect her blood. Also, nesquick and glue do not belong in the blood stream! I don't know what the dangers are but clearly it is not safe behaviour.
This is attention-seeking fantasy, designed to make her life more liveable, from her perspective, being popular will ease her suffering. However, what will ease her suffering is acknowledging the behaviour and getting help.
After school, adults are much more popular when they function healthily, than if they have unchecked behavioural issues. the very people that accept her now for "using drugs" will reject her for being a weirdo in years to come.
Help her before she finds access to the real thing; even at the cost of your friendship, which can be redeemed.

And sticking nesquick on the end of a sewing needle and stabbing it into her arm isn't injecting her self. It's just being plain stupid and she's just after attention.
The powder is stupid as well it's not getting her high either.
And headach tablets it takes an awful lot of those to over dose and if she did she'd be in the hospital getting her stomach pumped or being forced to puke it out.
Though she could be damaging her body by doing this kind of crap. Especially with the needle.
She's desperate for attention and will probably do anything for it. |

Well, I'd hate to do this to a friend, but you need to tell everyone thats giving her "respect" what she's really doing.
Don't be a nark about it and tell everyone in the school, but its appropriate to tell everyone that she's lying.
The other option is to take her to a counselor, but theres a SLIGHT chance she/he will call your friends parents. Thats not the best idea if your parents are strict and flip out on you for no reason.

Your friend really needs help. You NEED to tell her parents, even if you may lose the friendship. She's in a place where she really needs more help than just you. While the act of using Nesquick and tea as a drug won't hurt her, injecting herself with a dirty needle and trying to get high isn't healthy at all.
