A conebeam scanner is a medical device that uses low-level radiation in order to provide 3D images of bone structures. It is designed for maxillofacial imaging, useful in dental practice. (Similar to having either a normal bite-wing or panoramic x-ray done.)
The 3D imaging gives the dentist a better view as opposed to the older 2D technology of panoramic imaging.
