I can tell you that anyone whose eyes differ by 1.5 Diopters certainly needs to wear the glasses prescribed.
It is not only a matter of acuity; it is a matter of stimulus of accommodation.
People should not give advice here on Answers if they don't have the knowledge and training and experience to do it.
This is not a mild prescription. |

Completely agree with Kasumica's answer..in addition, when you pick up your glasses Thurs why don't you let the eye doctor or optician who dispenses the glasses tell your mom it's okay for you to wear them all the time (you can just ask them that question in front of her). |

This is a mild perscription although a bit odd as you are long sighted in one eye and short sighted in the other. to some extent this would compensate and leave you able to see the board. I'm a bit puzzled as to why you want to wear them all the time as its not really necessary. It won't do you any harm but glasses are an inconvenience. Is there something they are giving you that means you want them on all the time? Wearing glasses for sports is a real nuisance and can also mean you damage them?
to convince your Mom, just tell her that wearing them all the time won't hurt your eyes or cause them to worsen so there is no reason not to if this is your preference. It could be though that she is thinking that the glasses could get damaged ( sports are risky) and she would prefer not to take an expensive risk which is unnecessary. |

Assuming that you typed your prescription correctly, then you have one eye that is nearsighted and the other is farsighted. The -.75 eye right is nearsighted and the +.75 eye is farsighted. Both eyes have a mild prescription and you probably do not need to wear eyeglasses all the time unless you really want to. It will not make your uncorrected vision better or worse if you wear eyeglasses full time. Just tell your mom that you want to wear them all the time.
In your case, you may also want to consider contact lenses to better balance your vision. |
