First off, I wear contacts. Every now and then (and bad lately) by the end of the day irritation will build in my left eye. When I first feel it, its like a small grain of sand It then builds to a bigger grain, "feels" salty and makes my eye water. It gets to the point where it really is unbearable and I can barely keep my eye open. When I close my eye and move it around I can definitely feel something in there. During this whole time I rub it to try to relieve it and it takes a while, but then all of a sudden the entire sensation and irritation just goes away completely!!! I think I use to have calcium deposits so thats what I thought it was now, but how could it just completely go away??? I know I need to go see a doctor, but in the mean time what could it be? I should note too that its almost an immediate relief when I take my contact out.
