Bicep Pain when in a curling motion?
Hope someone has some suggestions on bicep pain that can't be diagnosed.
For almost a year now, I have have this pain in the bicep area between the elbow and shoulder are. Whenever trying to curl even without any weights it hurts quite a bit. They have done Xrays and MRI's and all appears normal. They want me to do physical therapy for a second round just so they can do an MEG (Electromyography) to look for pinched nerves or damage, but nothing shows in MRI so I'm concerneed it's all a big waste. Any suggestions if anyone has heard of or experienced this would be great. I wonder if acupunture in that area would resolve it?
Ask your doctor about an exercise routine that's right for you. Regular exercise may reduce neuropathy pain (nerve pain) and can help control blood sugar levels.
Acupuncture involves the insertion of thin needles into various points on your body. Acupuncture may reduce symptoms in about three-quarters of people with peripheral neuropathy. However, you may need multiple acupuncture sessions before you notice improvement.
Acupuncture is generally considered safe when performed by a certified practitioner using sterile needles.
Pain relievers. Mild symptoms may be relieved by over-the-counter pain medications. For more severe symptoms, your doctor may recommend prescription painkillers. Drugs containing opiates, such as codeine, can lead to dependence, constipation or sedation, so these drugs are generally prescribed only when other treatments fail.
See your health care provider as soon as possible (orthopedic surgeon), for consultation.
I hope this helps you. And good luck.
