In order to maintain weight, your body requires 1200 calories. Any less than this will make your body think it is starving and then it will begin storing fat in an effort to save your life. 1200 calories will enable you to still have energy. Overall, however, you still have to burn more calories than you consume. If you burn 1500 calories and only eat 1200, you will lose weight. |

how tall are you? if you are and adult woman, no less than 1250 a day! IF you are a man, no less than 1450 a day. Sipping water throughout the day will also raise your metabolisms. Sipping any liquid for that matter will do that but water has no calories. may sure you go through 6-8 8oz glasses.
Good luck and be kind to your body. |

To be healthy takes two factors: DIET & EXERCISE
Balancing caloric intake with exercise is what determines weight loss.
Eat healthy calories (i.e. no empty calories like candy bars, soda, junk food, etc) and be sure to focus on aerobic exercises (i.e. running, bicycling, jumping rope) and not anerobic exercises (i.e. weight training with heavy weights and low number of reps building muscle mass)
You might also want to consider eating 5 meals per day in small portions. This will keep up your metabolism rate so that your body will not store the calories, but rather use them throughout the day. |

it depends on your weight ,age ,height ,gender and your activity. If you are male you need more calories. first you calculate your need calories from this site /www.mypyramid.gov/index.html and then eat less calories .but i asked from a nutrition specialist for diet,he told required calories for female needs 950-1000 calories and for male needs 1100-1300 calories . |

You need to find out how many calories you burn on average every day. This would depend on your metabolism, how active you are and some other factors. It's slightly different for everyone. If you ate that many calories then you would maintain your current weight, eat less and you'll lose weight. I aim for about 1200 a day and that seems to work with a moderate amount of exercise. |

1500. Stay away from sugars, starches and carbs as much as possible without eliminating them completely. Excercise is the most important thing. |

Weight loss recommendation is 1500 - 1600 calories per day. Cut 500 out of you diet and exercise 500 calories. This is a 1000 calorie loss daily. Times 7 = 7000 calories = 2 pounds per week. |

average RDA is around 2000 calories. if you want to lose weight, check out what is your average calorie intake since it varies from individual to individual. your average calorie intake is the quantity that you need to maintain you weight. if you want to lose some of it, simply don't go over your average calorie intake. |

1200 is the absolute minimum that guarantees you'll have enough nutrients and calories. Rule of thumb is to multiply your desired weight by 10. So if you want to reach and maintain 120 pounds, you have to eat no more than 1200 calories a day. If you want to reach or maintain 150, then you should have 1500 calories a day. That's just for maintenance. If you're more active, you should eat more. |
