I have plans for the whole weekend & I don't want to be feeling like this! Does anyone know anything that will help me quickly?!
Hopefully you have taken some ibuprofen or tylenol for the pain. You can also gargle with warm salt water (one teaspoon salt in a glass of warm water - gargle and spit out). You can use this as often as you need to. If it progresses to visible white patches around your tonsil area, you need to be evaluated for strep.

Gargling with water and salt may seem really old school, but I'm telling you, it works. Your throat hurts because it is inflamed. Salt water will draw the moisture out of those tissues.
Less inflammation = less pain.
About a tablespoon of salt in 200ml of warm water should do it. Gargle for 30 seconds.
