When I was fifteen I had this same problem. I am now nineteen and have had type 1 diabetes for four years. I am not saying that is what she has for sure but it does sound like it. I would strongly urge you to take her in somewhere just to do a urine dip. That is what my mom did when I was fifteen and that told the doctor a lot. Here is a list of other things to check out.
Does she go pee a lot?
Does she sleep a lot?
Does she seem unfocused at all?
Does she seem irritable?
Does she drink so much water that it seems like she can't hold it all?
Does she go to the bathroom so often that you think it impossible for her to need to go again already?
All of these things happened to me and I pray that that is not her case but please do just go and get her urine checked. The doctors will know what to look for. In fact, if I remember correctly, my mom actually took me to a pregnancy clinic because it was cheaper at the time. I hope this helps.

TAKE HER TO HER DOCTORS and have her checked out. Ask the doc all your questions and you will be asked lots of questions yourself, so answer truthfully in order to have your grandchild diagnosed correctly.
