i know that x rays are the way to go when finding out a bone is broken or not, but what if you can't get an x ray or won't go to the doctor unless you know its broken for sure? Some people say that the pain is unbearable, while others say they didn't even think their bone was broken because the pain wasn't that bad or they could still move the limb that was broken. i know it depends on which bone and such, but still. for example: i hurt my wrist today by accidentally slamming the base of my fingers/palm side of my knuckles into the arm of the couch, (didn't realize the couch was there) and ended hurting my wrist? but anyway, there is no pain when i leave it and not move it but when i circle it(can still move it)there is pain and it sometimes cracks(don't know if i heard a crack or not when i hurt it at first). the pain is not that bad but i could defiantly feel that its the bones that ache(when moving) and not muscle. How would i know that its defiantly broken and not just sprained/badly sprained without getting an xray? its my mam you see, we have no medical insurance(i don't think) and so paying for the xrays, and treatment(if just a sprain: bandage) would be money from our pockets(recession is going on) and so she would only bring me if she knew it was defiantly broken and needed treatment. So any ideas? comments? also i have a very high pain threshold
