do not put anything else it will just get worse. Side effect of abreva is swelling of the lip so watch out for that. Ive been having cold sore for a month now and i tried everything. The dr put me on acyclovir, prednisone for swelling and amoxicillin incase it will get infected w bacteria. Just go to your dr and ask for acyclovir tabs or cream. It works wonders. Do not PUT ANYTHING ELSE you will just irritate it...But if u really want try novitra way better than abreva..

Try not to pick at it or pop it. Also on top of putting vaseline or petroleum jelly on it, you need to wash it at least a couple times a day. Keep it clean and moist and it should go away. Here are some other remedies you can try to speed it up. Good luck!

I would get that checked out because to me it doesn't sound like cold sores. Usually cold sores would go away and if you have chapped lips you may get multiple. So I would really go to the doctors.
