I am in severe pain with my knee what should I do?
I'm 14 I know I should visit a doctor but does anyone know what could be wrong. I have had pain in my knee for about 1 year now and it has gotten progressivley worse. Whenever I put pressure on it I feel as if my knee is grinding together and I can hear a clicking noise. It is getting hard to put pressure on it at all. Please help. ):
See your health care provider as soon as possible (orthopedic). If you hear pops and clicks with no associated pain in a joint, you may want to begin some conditioning exercises to improve the overall integrity of the joint (knee). If the muscles are strong, they will take the weight off of the joint and relax the pressure on those articulating surfaces. If there is pain along with those joint noises, there may be structural damage building in the joint, and it would be prudent to see a physician for an appropriate diagnosis. Otherwise, try a pain reliever until you see a doctor.
