I would definitely recommend checking with your doctor - it could be due to acid reflux, allergies, adult-onset asthma (a cough is the primary symptom) or any of a number of things, each requiring different treatment. In the meantime try about 1 - 2 ounces of dark chocolate & allow it to slowly melt in your mouth. There is research that show that the theobromides in DARK (not as much as in milk) can have some good results in cough suppression. Even if it doesn't work for you, it's not a bad treatment to try ;o).
