what causes staff infection after a surgery?
i had an ovary removed and a huge tumor, i weigh 250 lbs, the doctors took out my staples and the wound opened , it was about 4 inches deep and the doctor says it will close nicely and change the gauze 2 times a day , not even a week later i was sick with 104 fever and had staff infection
i did everything properly, washed hands with bacterial soap used sterile gauze, i wasnt messin around , cause i was afraid of gettting staff infection to begin with from the surgery
Staph infections can also come from unsterilized instruments.

If you kept the wound clean and you got it after the staples were removed then you were proly exposed to it and didnt know it.

remember skin is not sterile, skin has a bacterial called Staphylocccus epidermidis or Staphyloccous aureus, both could have colonized you wound and make u sick.
