You can buy ear drops in just about any pharmacy that are made to dry ears out after swimming. They are mainly rubbing (isoprophyl) alcohol, which is very drying, so if you have any around the hosue, you might want to try that. You are right to want to get rid of the water because it could lead to infection...'swimmer's ear'. When you put it in, gently pull the ear down and back to straighten the ear canal.
