What's the right sequence for flossing, brushing and mouthwash?
I'm wondering if there's a right or proper sequence for using dental floss, toothbrushing and using the mouthwash to get the most of them? Thanks!

i think it's brush first, then floss (to get rid of the food stuck between your teeth that the toothbrush didn't get) and then mouthwash, you know, to rinse it all away with the minty goodness left in your mouth,, heehee.

i like to brush to get most of the grime out, then floss to get into the cracks where my toothbrush didnt hit, and then the mouthwash will get everywhere because there shouldnt be anymore tarter left. :)

i beleive the right order is flossing: to get out food stuck in between teeth, then Brush: to clean your teeth and to brush out the food that is loose on your teeth from flossing, and finally mouth wash: to give that fresh breath and clean out every space that might still have food in your mouth even after the flossing and brushing.

floss first, to get in between teeth.
brush second to remove whats on your teeth and what came out from flossing.
Mouthwash last, to remove all plaque etc. thats in ur mouth and o freshen ur breath.

Brush thoroughly for at least two minutes. (This will loosen the plaque and things stuck between your teeth).

Floss. Here is a video where it shows the proper ways to floss your teeth.

And finally, the mouthwash.

I think it's:
1.Brush
2.Floss (to break up any tarter you couldn't get between your teeth with the toothbrush.)
3.Finally, mouthwash: to rinse away what you've loosened up with the floss, kill the bacteria in your mouth and also to leave your breath smelling fresh and clean.

Some say that is doesn't matter what the routine is as long as you do all three. But, think about it. Why would a person brush their teeth, then floss (to recontaminate the mouth) and then, use mouthwash. To better clean your teeth, floss first to get rid of any particles that are caught in between your teeth ( including plague build up),then brush to clean the teeth so that the toothbrush can clean better, then mouthwash to rinse, freshen the mouth and provide cavity protection ( if the mouthwash has an anti-cavity ingredient). This is what my Dentist recommends and, I have been following this routine for quite awhile. I hope that this helps and Keep Smiling !!

Brushing and flossing in any order but toss the mouthwash. You should most probably use a fluoride rinse before bedtime. Mouthwash is a quick fix for fresh breath but the fluoride will prevent decay.. Especially if this is done at bedtime......... no rinsing after the fluoride tho

floss brush rinse

You should floss first, as that loosens the gunk around your gumline and removes any actual pieces of food stuck between teeth, like meat between your molars.

You should brush second, and try for two minutes total. Be sure to pay attention to holding the brush at a 45 degree angle to your gums so you get up in there and brush away the stuff which was loosened but not removed by the floss.

Mouthwash depends on what type you use. Some rinses are designed for before brushing, to help loosen plaque and prepare your mouth for the flossing and brushing. Others are designed for rinsing after you have finished brushing. You just need to look at the recommendations on the label for the product of your choice and use it accordingly. I know a lot of people prefer to use a product which is used last so that they are left with nice fresh breath.

In all of that, please don't forget to brush or otherwise clean your tongue. You do that at the end of brushing. You can either brush your tongue gently with long strokes from the back to front, or you can use a special tool which is a kind of gentle scraper and which is displayed with other mouthcare items in most stores. You want to get as much plaque off your tongue as possible, as that is one area many people forget about, and it is one of the main culprits in bad breath problems.

Keep your mouth happy!
