Any drugs I feel have a bad side, yet we take them for the good side at the time. I don't have a list. You can probably find one by doing a Yahoo search for what the problems are with drugs. |

Tylenol (acetominophen) is the only available OTC analgesic that is not an NSAID, which benefits people who are allergic to aspirin or who have NSAID induced stomach ulcers.
It can be, however, quite harmful to the liver. People who drink a lot of alcohol should not take Tylenol AT ALL. The toxic dose is only 4 times the clinical dose. This is a lot closer than other OTC medicines. Don't even think of taking more than the instructions tell you to.
This has been known a long time - when I was in HS in the late 70s, I heard news stories about girls who faked suicide with tylenol and ended up dead. |

The pros should be pretty obvious. As for cons, there aren't really any. I have heard a recent study which claims that extended use of Tylenol can cause liver failure, but I don't have the source on that at the moment. Also, an overdose, as with many other drugs, can be fatal. |
