I am 28 and weigh 131 pounds. I also used to weigh 125 lbs about a year ago and with this added weight I feel really fat. I am 5'5 though and you know if you think you feel fat. If you do it doesn't hurt to try to lose weight.
Eat small meals. Just enough to keep you from being hungry and eat a bunch of times a day. Try your best to eat healthier foods. This helps keep your metabolism built up.
The best things to do is exercise. But not like exercise with weights because that will build up muscle and muscle weighs more than fat. So when you weigh yourself you will get heavier and you will freak out trust me.
You need to do more cardio things like swimming, running, running up and down steps, running in place, or for your age even dancing can do it for you. I have found doing the dance revolution on playstaion or any game system can really burn off some fat if you do it until you can't do it anymore.
Even if its just going to the mall and speed walking around.
You need to do it everyday and the more active you are the more weight you will lose. When you get to the weight that you want then you can start doing the weight training to tone up your body.
Once soccer starts it will be easier to stay at the size you want. |

Lose like 15 pounds...eat healhy, watch your calories (have like 1500 calories a day). Eat (veggies, fruits, whole wheats, salad, yogurt, nuts, etc.) Cut out lots of sugar and junk food (soda, chips, canody, ice cream, etc) Exercise daily for 30 minutes. Go on jogs or bike rides. =D |

if pounds then you're pretty much okay just drop a few pounds but if kilograms then you are definitely more than a little overweight. i am not teasing you but if it's KG you need to consider some serious help. if you can't get professional help then try cutting down MAJORLY on sweets, eat enough to fill you but dont eat for the sake of eating. eat healthy and balanced. some food options are salads, steak, bread, pasta, vegetarian lasagna etc.
also exercise some more! get up early in the morning and go for a swim. swimming is great because it uses every muscle in your body and if done before anything is eaten can really burn up any foods you eat. i suggest as a starting point for you get up early, do a couple laps in a pool [i suggest about fifteen to twenty for starters and work up], eat a healthy breakfast like fruit and yogurt. after school do some more laps or go for a fifteen minute walk. running is good and all but walking burns up just as many calories so is doesnt make a diff. if you eat after school then wait. walk first then eat a healthy snack.
you can take up a club at school other than soccer like an aerobics or dance class because theyre good for your body. at home you can do exercises like jogging on the spot, sit-ups, push-ups.

thats the problem with society today, its causing people as young as 14 to develop eating disorders. this is the one time in your life you can get away with eating what you want, take advantage of it!
Don't listen to a lot of these people that are being.... a**holes. Everyones body is different, espiecially at 14. You could be at a different point in development than someone else your exact age. Just have fun with life, regular moderate exercise, and a fairly healthy diet should keep you looking great! |

if you mean 131lb then your fine (bmi 24.7, healthy bmi is anywhere between 18.5 and 24.9) but dont worry about it much because you're still growing. as for what to eat, try and eat 5 portions of fruit or veg every day and avoid foods high in sugar or fat, although theyr ok once in a while as a treat :) |

Eat lots of fruits and vegetables, get some exercise. The best thing you can do is not sit in front of the TV and much on snacks. Stay away from the unhealthy stuff. If ya get the munchies, go get some carrots and ranch. ANd exercise every day for at least 30 min. weather your walking, playing something with your friends, just physical exercise. 125 is what I weighed at 14 I hit 15 and went WAY down. I didn't even try. Some will come off naturally when you hit 15 or16. Don't worry too much about it, unless it's gettting unhealthy. :) Have fun playing soccor |

Ignore James N! i am also 5'2". I used to weigh the same thing as you. Then i started eating healthy and exercising regularly. For example i eat all whole grains now instead of processed food, i don't eat as much junk food, i eat fruit for a snack instead, and i do 30 minutes of pilates 3 times a week. By doing this for a couple of months i have gained a much healthier body. i now weigh 105. look up some more healthy foods and find an exercise that suits you. Best of luck to you. |

HEY HEY HEY! I am 13 and weigh 92 pounds. You can lose weight and still eat yummy!! My mom is a health nut so I know all about this stuff!
Here are some tips:
DO NOT only eat one meal a day! that makes you gain weight! Eat healthier. For example:
Breakfast- eggs, turkey bacon or a smoothie or oatmeal or toasted Ezekiel bread.Stay away from sugared cereals.
Lunch- a chicken salad or a boca burger on whole wheat bread.
Dinner- fish (not fried) and rice or beans and beets.
Snacks- nuts, carrot sticks, any type of fruit.
I eat like this all the time !! Mmmm! Also, only eat until your full. Do not stuff yourself. SODA IS THE NUMBER ONE CAUSE OF WEIGHT!!!!! Stay away from soda for good!
Since you are LITTLE LITTLE bit overweight, I would suggest taking it slow on the workout for a little. Maybe start walking around more and once you can move better, join a gym!
P.s. Water, water, water, water, water, WATER!!!! Drink a lot of water!

Well its ok normal is 145 at 14 but you dont eat right and u play soccer try to eat a little less u can eat what you normaly eat but just dont eat as much like ones after lunch and dinner like junk food but McDonals every day is really bad for you. so its of to way that much just eat better like salads or somthing just remeber staying helthy is the best way to live longer and be best at sports. |

You're a little on the heavier side. Just go for runs, do some cardio, it'll help build muscle for soccer and help you lose weight. Eat healthier, stay away from too many sweets, eat your veggies, lay back on condiments, cheese, peanut butter, fatty things. Fried foods are something you should avoid. Drink lots of water instead of soda. If you eat healthy and exercise just a half an hour daily, you'll lose weight before you know it. |

In my opinion being the age that you are and your height, 131 is okay. You're still growing and at 14, you are in the middle of a large growth spurt so I would try to eat normal and get out and get active and not worry about weight at this age. However, according to height and weight charts, if you have a large frame, then you are okay. If you have a small frame, then you are a little heavy for 5'1-2". You should be somewhere between 110 and 140 (depending on if you have a small or heavy frame). But again I don't think that weight is fat considering that you are still 14. At 14 you still have some baby fat and you're going through adolescence. If you become very active with the soccer then you'll probably shed the pounds in no time.As far as eating, just eat three meals a day with three small snack between meals. Eat slowly and feel you feel your self getting full, push back from the table. Try not to eat anything after seven at night. Eat lots of fruits and vegetables and lay off the fast and fried foods. Instead of snacking on fatty chips, cookies, and candy, take healthy snacks to school like raisins, fruit, cut up veggies, or 90/100 calorie pack snacks. AND GIVE UP SODAS. I stopped drinking sodas eight years ago and easily lost fifteen pounds within two months. I also felt better and I have never had a kidney infection since then. Don't start dieting. You are too young for that and dieting never works. Make lifestyle changes instead. Leave out unhealthy foods and eat more fruits and veggies and you should be okay. Most of all just enjoy life and stop worrying about wieght. |

being that you are athletic i'm sure that most of that weight is muscle and muscle weighs more than fat. maybe you are on the thick side it's hard to say without seeing pics or something. for me i'm 5'0" weighing about 115 or 120 which is the right weight for my height but yet i have a gut and love handles!!! for height and weight ratio you are not considered overweight or obese |

Some popular opinions is that you should be thin. OK, you aren't exactly thin, and I'm not trying to offend you, but rather, perhaps you are stronger than most.
I weigh more than my size and height optimal weight suggests, but I'm by no means fat. I have strong and big leg muscles which add to a lot of my weight.
There are a lot of things that determine whether you are healthy or not. Since by your own admission you don't eat right, I would suggest you change your diet but keep an active lifestyle. Soccer is great for the heart, so changing your diet is about all you really need to do. In the months to come your body will adjust to the new diet and you will grow stronger AND will probably shed any excess fat.
You'll be fine.

The best way to figure out if you are in the normal weight range is to calculate your BMI (body mass index). This gives you a certain number to tell you what catagory you are in. Here i'll show you:
BMI Categories:
Underweight = <18.5
Normal weight = 18.5-24.9
Overweight = 25-29.9
Obesity = BMI of 30 or greater
I used the BMI calculator and yours is 24.0, which means you are still in the normal weight range but only just, so if you get any heavier you might slip into the overweight range.
The best thing to do to lose weight at your age (im also 14) is to eat HEALTHY foods, without actually going on a diet because a diet can cut out many nutritients you need like calcium and iron. Have a BALANCED diet and you will find yourself losing weight in no time.

This shows you how many servings of each different food group an average person is meant to eat a day. As a teenager trying to lose weight though, i suggest you don't substitute some of the servings of bread and grain for vegetables, because vegetables are the best way to lose weight, they are filled with minerals and often vitamins that will fill you up with nothing but goodness:). Also exercise, a simple 30 minute walk everyday will contribute:) and some abb crunches and pushups will make you feel so much better about yourself.
I know that it is probably hard not to give in to temptation, but everytime you think you are going to just imaging yourself all toned and slender:) it works.
