A person, very close to me, was suffering of hard drinking and eating of sleeping pills during this very summer.I forced her to doctor who ordered some kind of medicine to stop her drinking (for three days) as well as a medicine for her stomach (very painful because drinking) and vitamin B1, B6 and B12 (because lack of food during several weeks). A therapy for the recovery was also given very fast because she was mentally very depressed. - As far as I know, she is not drinking any alcohol at all today and works again. The key factors were the medicine for stopping her drinking (cannot remember its name) and the discussions with the mental nurse during her therapy. |

You were asking a question before about love. I think you are just bored, or drunk. I hope not to get in your taxi. |

Go see your GP, he will refer you to the local community addiction team who will try and help you, Most teams have at least one specialist dealing with alcohol alone. |

If you think you are becoming an alcoholic you probably already are one, I don't think you can stop by yourself or just call AA, too easy to procrastinate that. Make an appt with your doctor today to be seen today. Tell them it is a personal problem you need to discuss with the doctor when you schedule the appt. He will direct you to an outpatient treatment program and some counseling which will include AA but you need more than just AA to make the initial break. |

find something that tastes good (like coca cola or preferably something healthy) and drink that instead. get rid of all ur alcohol or lock it in a cuboard and give a friend the key. then just stop thinking about it, get a new hobby like video games play sports or something. then when you think you are ready get your friend to give you the key back. Open up that cupboard and if your addiction has stopped, you should be easily able to throw all of it down the sink. If you succeed in doing this, you have broken the habit. |

the secret of success is control
the biggest obstacle to control is temptation.
Control the temptation and you will be succesful.
Otherwise you will be a nobody. |

Bravo! You've realised you've got a problem now just use the same determination to stop that you had to use to come on here and tell everyone about it. I think that you really mean that you have become alcohol dependent meaning that you 'cannot' do without having a drink as opposed to have a regular glass of what you fancy! Good luck! |

Stop buying it. Pour out any that you might have. This is not a good thing. It's a bad habit and could cause problems with your job. Not good for your health either. |

I think you should get help. Now you've raised the problem, it is time to go to Alcoholics Anonymous. They will give you the help, support and advice you need. |

Don't drink it....that's the only way to stop if you really want to....you can find other things to do with your time. Stay occupied by something else so you won't think about drinking, and drink allot of some other alcohol free beverage so you're not thirsty. It's mind over matter really. |

The good thing is that you recognise early what is happening (before its actually happened)
Theres normally a cause for drinking to excess so, is something troubling you! Try and get to the ROOT of your excessive drinking.....Go to the Docs if you feel you need a chat.
So now all you have to do is make sure you avoid Pubs (until you have control over the situation) Dont keep Alcohol in the house & maybe advise people when they come over that its an Alcohol Free zone for a while.
If your embarrased about friends knowing then just say its for health reasons.......Just blame it on a diet your on at the mo!!!
All the best! |

.I had a problem with the booze when I was younger, the best way to stop drinking is to not put the bottle or glass in ur mouth. Takes a bit of self control, but it works |

Knowing there is a problem and asking for help is the first step.
Call AA is another good start. Try them and see if they may have any good advice for you.
Actually, they will have good advice, it will be up to you to accept their advice and live by their suggestions. |

My friend drank too much and we always got into fights. Then he got into drugs and lost his job, then me as a friend. He said he wanted to stop and never lose me as a friend, but alcohol ruined his life.
Please stop now, get rid of everything in the house and don't go back to the drink when you get depressed. I don't want you to end up like my friend. |

It's pretty easy, actually. All you have to do is take a good, hard look at your life and find out why you drink. Once you figure that out and fix it, the rest is easy. With me, I wasn't happy with my job and my marriage... once I changed those, I didn't want to drink anymore. Here's a book that can change your life:
