I'm brand new to eyeglasses & is it normal to feel nauseous from wearing them?
I got my glasses on Monday and I feel nauseous all the time when I wear them. So, I have been taking them off when I feel really queasy and then putting them back on when I feel better. Is this normal? My prescription is low (in my opinion & don't know if that makes a difference). But, I'm wondering how long will it take for me to get used to them? Should I be wearing them all the time? I can see fine without them but am on the computer ALL THE TIME (which is the reason why I got them). Your experience and advice is appreciated. Thanks!
Mine did the same thing. I called my eye doc and he told me that if it didn't go away that maybe the prescription wasn't right for me or that maybe the people that put the lenses in the frames I chose goofed up. It did eventually go away, but it took a couple days.
When I first got them I also had problems going down stairs and kept running into door jams and tables. =P Kind of embarrassing...
Good luck!

caffsans
yes ,it is very normal=you have to get adjusted to them =try a wee while and build it up each day ,until you can wear them all the time you need to=good luck
teencherry2000
it will take at least a week to two weeks to get used to... if you can not tolerate it no more go back and have the optician take a look at the rx to make sure its correct ... i had that responsability as a optician...
Mr. Knowitall
That's absolutely normal! Glasses take some getting used to!
When you first need glasses they might not seem like they make any difference, but once you get used to them you'll find that your eyes don't get tired like before.
The way to get used to them is to wear them only part of the time. Five minutes at a time, then take them off for five or ten minutes. Over a period of days you'll get used to them and then they won't make you nauseous.
