I want to ask a serious quesiton here as I am not getting the answers in another section?
I want to know if there is cancer or any abnormality will the specialist at the hospital want you back in to see him within 2 weeks at his clinic? I had a phone call today from the hospital from the outpatiens and she said the doctor wants me back in to see him next friday the7th. I had a cotoscopy done 2 weeks ago becasue I was getting lage amounts of blood in my urine of and on seen and unseen for a year or so. No infection was dectected anytime at all, and no kidney stones were detected, but what was detected was abnoral white cells mutiplying inside of me and it comes out too in my urine as it is very high. I am geting worse in my health, and I had a CT IPV done last week at hospital and my urine jars handed in too. The doctor at the clinic 2 weeks ago was worried about cancer of the bladder, and now after my CT IPV scan last wenesday he wants me back in next week to see him. Is this the normal standard of patients that have cancer that doctos make apointments staight away after

they see something wrong? I am worried here as I feel in my body I feel not too good. I am not losing weight but when I go to the toilet I burn as I get itchy so much sometimes as I have no infections at all. Mucaus plugs come out more often now, no I do not get much of a period anymore so it is not that. So anyway please tell me if it is normal for a doctor to make an appointment straight away after looking at the results that are abnormal? I had a phonecall today fromthe hospital.

it does not sound good.
go back and see the doctor next week and think positive.
it is normal to be seen quickly when something is amiss.
stay positive and all will be fine.

I've known a number of people diagnosed with cancer and once the test proved this they were being treated within days of a diagnosis, they don't usually mess around with cancer.
I had a call back from my Dr. a few years back and my appt. was 2 weeks from the time they called. I ended up having something completely treatable, non life threatening and that was why the appt was made for 2 wks down the road. My Dr. told me if it had been serious I'd have had a appt. much sooner than that.
Hope it's not serious and try to relax. Good Luck.

'No news is good news'

That's quote we live by in my house... my mom has cancer.

I don't want to say it's bad and scare you, but when you go hope for the best, but expect the worst.

Beautiful girl
The sooner you can get in for your medical appointments and surgery if necesary, the sooner they will find out what is wrong with you. Cancer runs in my family and I've had alot of them die from it. Two have it now and one has 6 months to live. Cancer is no laughing matter. You are talking your life. Get in and get the treatment. The sooner the better. LOL.

My husband had cancer and the doctors do want to see you as soon as possible so that if you do have cancer they can discuss the treatments with you. It is very scary when this happens. My husband was in shock because he could not understand why and how everything moved so fast but it is really for your own good.

Its really hard to say. A lot of times they just want to "follow up" with you. The test also may have come back negative and the Dr wants you to come back to do some further testing. I pray that everything works out for you. Keep your faith up !!!

Yes, it is normal to get someone in as soon as possible to discuss an abnormal result from lab work or radiologic study.
It is not always cancer though.
I sure understand your concern.
The worrying is often worse than the real news.
I always tried to see people within a day or two if they had something wrong, but I burned out at a young age trying to fit everyone into already busy days.
Two weeks will not make a difference if it is a bladder cancer, but the waiting is VERY difficult for you - - it would be for me or anyone else in this position.
People may tell you not to worry, but that is impossible when you know something is wrong. You feel sick. You know something is not right. Let's hope it is a fixable problem - whether malignancy or not. If it is a superficial bladder cancer, it may be very treatable.
'Hope the two weeks goes by as quickly as possible.
You could try calling for the reports of the tests yourself, but then you would not necessarily know what the reports meant.
Doctors prefer to discuss this in person. We know what a factor worry can be. I was acutely aware of this in my twenty years of medical practice. Good Luck!

Added note - If you are a young person - as many are on this site - the chances of a malignancy are much less. Even those of us with medical knowledge and experience have a tough time guessing how to answer without adequate information. Most of the patients I saw with cancers were over 40 or 50 years of age.
