A bloodclot on the bottom of his back? This seems like a strange place to have a blood clot. Are you sure about this diagnosis? Could you mean an ulcer or bedsore from laying around?
Either way, the best thing to do is to get him to a doctor. Don't let him talk you out of it, even if money is a concern. Getting an office visit or going to an urgent care center or a "Doc in the Box" at a pharmacy will be cheaper than the ER.
Good luck! |

You get him help, and get it fast, If you care it wont matter you will get him to a doctor or bring a doctor to him. Your right that can cause do much damage, internal bleeding wich can cause death if he leaks tio much blood. Wake him up an dgive him a dose of reality. |

He should seek medical attention if this is as bad as you say it is. Does he have something against doing this? |

My only suggestion is to go see a doctor or call your local pharmacy and talk to a pharmacist. |

Listen, tell him that he needs help and if he really cared about u he would get help cause he needs it.
and pay attention to what other people say cause im sure they say it better then me |

Did the doctor suggest anything for him? Is he on any blood thinning medication? Can he be given anything for the pain? Is this a permanent condition for him? I would strongly advise your friend that it's important to seek medical help (or if he has, see the doctor again for this pain and follow all medical advice). He is very lucky to have a friend like you that cares so much about him--he needs you right now to protect him. He may be depressed about this and that may be why he sleeps all the time. Maybe talk to his parents or yours for advice as well. Good luck and I hope he gets better. |

Try and make him understand how dire the situation is, and insist he go to a hospital. Does he not see how important it is? He won't be in pain if he goes to the doctor...
I'm very sorry what a difficult situation... stubborn guys, GOD. |

What are your ages? Where are your parents? If it's just him and you, and he won't save himself, you may need to get help from outside....call paramedics, God Bless You! |

You cant do anything but he really needs some help. He is the only one that can help him. Is he seeing a doctor, if not then I think he should and if he's not listening to you maybe you should talk to some professional about this. |

actually moving around is the worst thing he can do. that can dislodge the clot. he need to see a doctor and be put on a blood thinner that can maybe break down the clot. |

He needs to go to the doctor. Where are his parents? Moving around could possibly dislodge the clot where it can travel to his heart and cause a heart attack or travel to his brain and cause a stroke. He needs to be put on a thrombolytic which will disolve an already formed clot. A blood thinner will not disolve a clot that has already formed, it would just work to prevent another clot. |

stroke is much more serious than that. It makes no difference where the clot is, when it passes through the brain, there is no telling what can happen. I had one and was only 30yo. To permanent damage, but it could have killed me. |

First of all who diagnosed him with this "problem" and why is he not being followed up by a medical Doctor. He needs to go to the ER ASAP!
Dont fool around, call him an ambulance, pain is the body's way of letting you know something is wrong. |

well, he needs to get to the doctor and follow the doctor's advice. |

If he's in high school...why don't his parents take him to the doctor? How does he know he has a clot, and why wasn't it taken care of when it was diagnosed? If he's over 18 and refuses to see a doctor...cry...throw a hissy fit...beg...threaten or anything else you can to get him to go. Beg him to let you call an ambulance, and when he won't (because he sounds like he won't), ask him to at least compromise and let you take him. If he argues money, tell him hospitals have plans that allow you to pay according to your income, so that's no excuse. Good luck! |
