Track and a ligament injury...?
I finally went to the doctor about my leg, and she said i probably did something to my ligament. The only problem is she didn't tell me what. So idk how serious it is. Now, it feels better to walk on, i, of course, haven't been trying running on it. However, it hurts when i press down on it. School's starting back up in a couple days, and i've been sitting out of practice and meets for about a month now. I'm nervous about running on it cuz i don't wanna risk hurting it again and having to sit out even longer. This is my first year doing track, so of course my body isn't quite used to the increase in activity, which probably helped to cause whatever happened to my leg. What should i do??? Thanx. Additional Details Thanks kitty (Yes, that's sarcasm)
Ignore the standard advice read and apply the information http://www.helium.com/tm/148271
Fix the problem and have a great track season or suffer the consequences ignoring the problem.

Let time heal your injury. There's always next year. It's not worth it to risk something for one little track meet and having that injury effect you for the rest of your life. It's best to keep off it, ice, and rest it. Try not to run on it either, it will just make it worse and even more prone to serious injury. Go back to a specialist and get x-rays and ask for their advice, or go back to your doctor.

u should rele rest the ligament those things cant take u out for like 2 years if u mess it up
u should probly see another docter them do rehab

you might want to get an x ray for your leg. depending on the severity you might not want to put strain on your leg. but for now i think the best thing to do is to get an x ray then go from there

Deff. take your time. Would you rather miss out this one year or miss out the rest of your career in track? because if you go back into it too soon you could worsen your injury even more and then you could of really done something serious to where it takes you out of it. So just relax and be patient, it will eventually heel, just takes time.

1)kall the doc and ask if u kan run again
2)ice it
3)stretch
4)tell your coach and they might let you jog and take it easy
5)ask your skool trainer
hope i helped since i am a track runner =)
Peace Out
What area of you leg is it? Because if it's a knee ligament, you should get off of it ASAP. And if anything you should take it easy so you don't do any further or permanent damage.
I would suggest getting a second or third opinion for sure! Once when I tore my ACL in my knee, a doctor told me I strained it, and then it was hurting so bad I finally went to a specialist and it turns out I tore a ligament.
And a lot of these people are talking about X rays, but I think you'll need an MRI.
