After wearing contacts my eyes are very veiny and red...?
I've been wearing contacts for about 2yrs, and recently my optometrist put me onto a different brand. They're supposed to be more 'hi tech' than my older ones, allowing me to wear them 7 days a week as they are more permeable and allow oxygen thru. I still take them out at night.
So after about a month or two on these new contacts my eyes would be really irritated and scratchy and sore even only a few hours after i put them in. They're monthly contacts and weren't near their throw-out date. By the end of the day my eyes would be bloodshot with quite big veins going into the coloured part, and leaving a funny looking whitish mark on the colour where the vein joined.
I visited my optom about this and he said to wear glasses for two weeks to let my eyes heal. Which i have done. I wore contacts today for the first time in two weeks and my eyes have gone back to doing the exact same thing!! Bloodshot by the end of the day, tho no irritation.
I am currently going through the same problem as you. My eye doctor told me that my lenses no longer fit my eyes right and I would need to be refitted for another brand... however, it sounds like your doctor just did that.
The only other thing I can recommend is "Clear Care" solution, which is an intense deep-cleaning system for your contacts... it removes protein buildup and makes the contacts feel a bit more comfortable. Other than that, I'd say to keep putting in drops to rewet them throughout the day and wear your glasses every once in a while. I'll be checking the status of these answers as well... and hopefully we can both cure our red eyes!

Everyones eyes are different but i had a similar problem, my optom told me no contacts for couple of weeks and rinse my eyes with systane drops, NOT visine or clear eyes, those take the red out but also have a tendency to dry your eyes out to get your eyes to produce tears naturally. The redness goes away but it may take a while for the veins to, just let your eyes breathe for bit

the lenses u are using might be those type called silicone lenses. It does offer more oxygen flow and longer hrs wearing but the material might not be suitable for everyone. In this case, that means u mgiht not be suitable for the lenses. Try out other brands. Maybe u will be suitable.

I dont know much about contacts even tho I wear, it had never happend to me. U just might be allergic to them. I suggest that you go back to the old brand u was using. Sorry I know its not much help.

Did you switch contact lens care solutions? Do you have environmental allergies? If no... go back to your doc. Not everyone tolerates some contact lens materials, you might need to switch. Your doc should be glad to help you find a contact that provides clear and comfortable vision. He will still want to put you in a more breathable lens, there are several on the market and they are healthier for your eyes.
