I have no problem with you smoking, just as long as you do it well away from me so I don't have to inhale your stinking smoke.
If you smoke in the privacy of your own home, well, everyone is entitled to do whatever they like there. If you smoke in public, die, you inconsiderate barsteward. |

All I know is that I wish the smokers around me would quit. My mother and my brother. Because I want them around for a while longer. It doesn't make me insecure, I know I'll be here when I am 70 and not need an extra lung! |

I'm campaigning to make all none smokers start smoking and make all none smokers stand in doorways and drink outside
see how these fascists dictators like it,
WHAT I DO TO MY BODY IS MY BUSINESS NOT YOURS
and no i don't smoke around others |

I smoke and the worst non-smokers are the ex-smokers. They talk about all the dangers of smoking (like we dont know already) how much they can breathe better, how they havent got anymore phlegm blah, blah, blah, blah, drone, drone, drone. I wish they'd all shut up! |

Sorry, but if you are within breathing distance of a smoker, then yes, you will get contaminated. You can't help it, unless you're going to stop breathing.
What non smokers are worried about is lung cancer, throat cancer, emphysema, heart disease and the list surely goes on. Smoking causes these diseases... FACT. Second hand smoke causes these diseases... FACT.
And if you think that by walking around with a cigarette in your hand, smelling like last weeks ashtray and tasting worse is actually attractive then there is something intrinsically wrong in your brain.
Also, as far as insecurity goes, it's not non-smokers who need to have 'something in their hand', or a quick drag to calm their nerves or de-stress themselves..... so I suggest you look a little harder in the mirror.
Oh, and I used to smoke, for many many years in fact, and I have no issue with anyone wishing to smoke themselves, but as I fought hard to give it up and stop killing myself, I greatly appreciate other people keeping their toxic fumes to themselves. |

I'm a non-smoker and as much as possible I don't want to be near smokers. Have you heard of passive smoking, where non-smokers are more affected than the smokers themselves? My brother-in-law has 3 brothers and all of them are smokers, including their father. Last year their mom died of lung cancer. So, we, non-smokers are scared of getting chronic bronchitis, emphysema, cardiac problems, cancer. It doesn't make me insecure in any way. I'm proud to be a non-smoker. |

what ever goes

firstly as a 19 month quiter of smoking ,i certainly do not feel insercure.i personally think it is the smokers who may feel insecure,as they dont have the gumption to quit, just in case they fail.yes its very anti social,as the country is trying hard to put a total ban in place.
i am guessing you are male, and kissing an ash tray is not attractive.you all have to hide in your corners, and out in all weathers, just to fill your lungs with smoke.
with an end result of emphasymia.
does this answer the question ????
i agree that people should be entitled to live there lives how they want to ,and i would not preach to someone while they smoke,i attemped to quit many times, but this quit yes i am anti smoking now and proud of it. |

Smokers stink of stale smoke, the thought of kissing , must be like eating an ashtray.yuc!! and that horrible flemmy cough you`ve all got , more yuc!!!, not to mention bronchitis, lung cancer, etc etc. |

well, apparently being a smoker makes you insecure because you sure are defensive about it. I dont smoke so i dont like smelling like your ash tray. If you smoke thats your decision, but statistics say that you will die younger than me, so dont act surprised when you come down with a chronic/deadly disease.
and by the way......seeing a pretty woman light up a cigarette is the biggest turn-off ever |

No, being a non-smoker is going to statistically make me live longer and stay fitter, I don't spend time coughing over everyone and my breath and hair smell better. I don't need to stick a tube of paper filled with toxins and poisons into my mouth and light it, to make me look or feel cool! |

The anti-smoking propaganda encourages all bullies and busybodies to persecute smokers in what they see as a justifiable cause. |

I've never seen what the problem is. There are smoking sections in restaurants, er.. were. It was always in the back, so it's not like the non-smokers had to walk through smoke.
I was always polite about my smoking, and I still am. If I'm with someone who doesn't smoke, I make an effort to at least keep my smoke from blowing in their face.
People just love to complain about others just to try to make themselves look better.
Isn't America the land of the FREE? Free will to do to yourself as you please. If I choose to pollute my own lungs, that is my choice. |

They're afraid of all the nasties that you can get from smoking. I stopped from 100+ a day six years ago and I feel a great deal more secure now than I did then - and it's a rotten excuse to come out with that nonsense about non-smokers attacking smokers - that's just another reason they give NOT to stop smoking BECAUSE THEY CAN'T..... |

erm im a non-smoker, i hate smoking and think its a nasty habit, but i dont try and convince people to stop, its your body, do what ever you wish.. i even go outside to talk to my smoking friends, so dont tar us all with the same brush!!! |

What ?? Are you insane ?? I gave up 4 years ago and now I'm almost certainly going to live longer and I have more money. I dont really understand the think about pulling. What about if the chick you dig is a non smoker ?
Anyway must get on.I hope you dont die in agony from cancer but unfortunately you probably will. |

THEY BLOW THIER F*CKIN SMOKE IN MY FACE
just because their going to die they want to take non-smokers with them |

It's not necessarily the horrible, acrid stench given off by the burning subject of the smoker's addiction.
It's the fact that ambient smoke has the same cancer causing quality as the smoke inhaled by the addict.
How's that for a reason.
The courteous smoker who overcomes the urge to pollute the atmosphere of innocent people is genuinely...rare. Most smokers ate patently inconsiderate. |

If you read what the non smokers think on this page its obvious that they don't care about the well being of smokers, or non smokers, why then do they tell lies about the reason for banning it ?
Its my opinion that these people get a kick out of the feeling of superiority they get by looking down on people who smoke.
If it was so easy for everybody to give up smoking then nobody would smoke, most smokers wish they had never started, but that doesn't mean that they don't enjoy it.
Why don't people stop meddling and leave people to lead their own lives, after all it may be your vice that the meddlers meddle with next. |

This is a question that I would have once asked as well. I’m now 33 and have one lung. No joke.
Even with one lung smokers still stink. |

What do you mean non-smokers can't pull the birds? Personally i'd prefer to get with someone who didn't stink link an ash tray! |

Did that last question about smokers in doorways wind you up? I can't believe some non smokers are so awful.
Its a persons choice to smoke or not, I don't tell people whether they can drink or not and there's far more accidents and crimes as a result of alcohol. |

because we are worried that you're going to die. or just get VERY VERY VERY sick! yes, we are scared, we're scared for you!
and no, i think most people would much prefer to be dating someone who doesnt smell AWFUL! and yes, people do notice, and can tell when you've been smoking. you REEK!
you say we're insecure, i think this question just proves that you're insecure!
ill pray for you that you dont die anytime soon! |

Well, I used to smoke but I quit, so I've seen both sides of the coin. I wish people would leave others in peace to do what they like as long as they do things 'considerately'. Most smokers I know now are very considerate people.
Many non smokers think they are better people and love to crow about how self righteous they are over smokers, but without all the tax paid by smokers, the NHS would collapse. |

Most non smokers are from socialist family backgrounds and have pretensions of joining the educated and middle class . They think that by there silly protests will make them acceptable, But you may take non smokers out of there working class backgrounds but they will always be working class put here to serve the rest of the world. |
