Some people require anesthesia in the form of nitrous oxide or local injection into the gum tissue when they get their teeth cleaned. If it makes the procedure more comfortable for the patient, then it should be done.
If you are referring to general anesthesia where you are asleep, then no. The only time this may occur is when you are having gum surgery and the dental specialist has an anesthesiologist on staff. |
