by far, id have to say the most pain i get is when they clean them, i think other people experience this too, but i have had some surgical stuff done to my teeth that didnt hurt as bad as cleanings do! |

I've had to go into actual surgery to get an exposure on my tooth once. I had my left cuspid stuck all the way up into my gums so he had to shave my gums up all the way to that tooth, then the next day I went back to the orthodontist to hook a brace to that tooth to bring it down.
In a few years though I'll have to get a different surgery where the dentist will take bone from my hip and ribs, move the bone to my mouth, and put a screw into my mouth to hang a porcelain tooth because i'm missing one. |

They shaped my teeth with a metal file.... It was sick. Think of filing your nails... but 100x worse. Not only could I feel them grinding away but I could taste the tooth-dust that was left afterwards. |

gotta be 1. oral sugery 2. getting dry socket afterwards. Dry socket was like birth pangs in my mouth. Horrible horrible. Wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy. |

Getting my wisdom teeth was the most painful for me. It wasn't the actual procedure but afterwards when the novocaine wears off. |

I had a dead nerve in one of my back baby teeth and they drilled the center of my tooth out, then drilled my gum (and the numbness medicine didn't work) and took out the nerve then pulled the tooth, while they were pulling in it cracked because it didn't have the center in it. It hurt terribly bad!!! |

the root canal being reopened is the worst. had a root canal a year ago but had to go back to have it reopened. talk about bad luck, keep your teeth healthy no matter what the cost. |

A dental implant to replace a missing tooth with just novocaine.
He had to cut the gum tissue away from 3 of my teeth at the roof of my mouth, then use 3 sizes of drill bits to drill into my jaw. When he started drilling with the 2nd bit and got deeper it hurt like hell so he gave me more novocaine. Also he had to use so much pressure I thought my jaw would break. Take good care of your teeth, this hurt and it is really expensive $4000.00 for one tooth. |
