Anytime your eye hurts, especially if it is red, you need to be seen by an eye doctor. Until they actually examine your eye, no one can tell you what is the cause of the problem, but it could be a serious eye infection, not something to play around with. Call your eye doctor and describe your problem so that you can be worked into the schedule.

If there is no drainage, it sounds as if you broke a blood vessel. It happens and it hurts. There is nothing you can do except let time heal it.

ok don't go to the ER geez talk about a bill..anyway you could just have a sty...all you have to do is go to the pharmacy and get sty medicine. you could also have pink eye in which case you would need to call your doctor and tell them and usually you do not need a visit and they will call in a prescription for sulfacetamide 10%...works great and clears up quick. good luck and happy holidays =)
