In yhe Hospital I work in we also take a constant internal temp by going through the nose and down the throat, (these people are sedated and on a breathing machine), and it is just as accurate as the rectum if not more so. |

Per rectum - especially if there is a danger of the thermometer being broken in the mouth. Some countries do this routinely e.g. France. So if a French doctor wants to take your temperature - turn around and brace yourself! |
