How much do prescription eye glasses cost?
What is the cost for a decent pair of eye glasses. I just know that the power of my contact lens are 3.0. My eyes are fine besides the fact that i cant see far away. Besides that, nothing else is wrong. I dont have insurance.
Eye glasses are way over priced, so i depends. I have insurance and it was still like 200$ just for the reading glasses i need

It varies tremendously and it pays to shop around. I buy mine online at www.optical4less, you won't get much cheaper, and the quality is the same as the expensive ones. There is another website that offers cheap glasses www.zenni.com but I haven't tried them so cannot comment on quality.

It is going to depend on a few factors. The frame itself with be a cost and then the lenses. If you choose an expensive frame it will make the cost higher. Progressive lenses are going to be more expensive as well. On average you are looking at about $150 for an average frame and anywhere between $150 - $400 for the prescription lenses. The best way to save $$$ is to get your Rx from your eye doctor and then go to a low cost optical shop to have it filled.

It varies on where you live and what type of lenses and frames you want. I work in Arkansas and you can get a basic pair of glasses for under $100 easily. In fact I worked for a retail optical that offered 1 pair for $38. Just shop around. If you want designer frames and thin lenses you could spend anywhere from $200- $500. Watch out for big retail chains.

This varies.
You want to research the cost of the frames and the cost of the lenses.
Many lens options such as high density, UV coating, transition, and other package options can drive up the cost of a lens dramatically.
What you can do is go for an exam, once you have your prescription you can talk it over with a glasses boutique.
They'd be able to show you the cost of certain frames, then calculate the cost of the lenses you need, and then give you an estimate.
If it's too expensive, save up, and then get your prescription filled.
Your glasses prescriptions are valid for 2 years. So, if you can't afford glasses right away, you're able to save up for a period of time before your prescription expires.
