Question for contact wearers?
Okay..when you put contacts in do they sometimes feel a little itchy for the first couple minutes? I've had my contacts for about 10 months..and sometimes when I put them in they itch and feel weird still. is this normal? oh and I also drop some rewetting drops immediately after I put them in and it feels a little better.
oh and in your answer can you tell me how long you've been wearing them? thanks!
I am 44. I have worn CLs since I was 15. I am also an optician. The Ph in your solution might be different than the Ph of your eye so that might make it sting a bit. Your drops most likely have a Ph closer to your own. It is fairly common, and it does happen to me. LORI O^O

Contacts can feel itchy especially if you have allergies. Im not sure if your eyes itch any other time or just when you insert your lenses. There are other factors as well, do you wear your lenses every day or just maybe once a week. If you've never properly built up your wearing time, this could be one reason. Another reason is if your contact lenses do not fit properly. I formerly worked for a optometrist and I had alot of different lenses I used to try out. When I tried on lenses that were not the correct base curve for my eye (curvature of the eye) my eyes would itch and feel irritated. You may want to make sure that the lenses are fitting properly. This is very simple and if you call your optometrist I'm sure he wouldn't mind checking this for you. Hopefully this will help you, I hope so.

i have been wearing contacts/glasses for like my whole life and yah i hate wearing contacts exactly because of the itchiness or dryness of them...dryness is normal and you can use drops to reduce it but if it hurts then its probably a scratched lens or it may have a chip out of it or something
maybe the contacts aren't whats causing the itchiness...allegries maybe?

Yes, I think that is normal. I've been wearing my contacts for 10 years and that always happens to me, but it usually goes away after a little while. If it doesn't go away and they still feel weird, I take them out and clean them again and make sure they're not inside out, and that usually works.
