It's not, it's perfectly fine as long as you don't get glasses above the degree of near sighted to far sighted. It's just a rumor. And if you don't wear glasses and struggle and squint to see things it just makes your eye sight worse because the eye stresses out squinting

Seems someone , every few hours asks if glasses are bad for your eyes.
Think about it...if they were bad for your eyes, would they have been around for over 200 years and be worn by hundreds of millions of people ?
Would Dr's be precsribing them if it was a known fact they were bad for the eyes ??
Glasses only focus light onto the retina in certain ways to improve your visual comfort. That is all glasses can do...they can't change the shape of your eye which in most cases, is what caused a visual defect.
And if Yoga or any other excercises had any real, permanent value, it would be the medical find of the century, and be proclaimed as a miracle cure, and everyone would use it instead of wearing glasses.
If there was a way to fix bad vision by any other means than glasses, contacts, or surgery...EVERYBODY would know about it, and use it.
The Bates excercises methods for instance have been around for 85 years. If they worked, there should have been thousands of people showing up at their Dr's offices who miraculously don't need glasses anymore...but, that hasn't happened.

Glasses aren't bad for your eyes. I've worn glasses for over 10 years. It improves, clarifies, brings your eyes into focus to see true, accurate detail if you can't see clearly far away or up close or the mix of both vision distances. Just depends if/what your eye seeing problem is rather near sighted or far sighted. I'm near sighted which is a problem seeing far away. Don't be afraid of glasses, although some judge & put you down due to looks but those are ignorant & unhappy people to be so rude, shallow, & disrespectful but always contacts available, which I wear too. Glasses can get irritating/sore to wear long periods on the nose & behind the ears sometimes, plus the weight of the frame and lense thickness can effect you but you can get thin lenses and lighter weight frames to help, which is why contacts are nice but not necessarily all the time cause they can dry my eyes out but drops are available otc for the dryness. I've not tried the eye yoga though. Good luck whatever the case. Have a nice day.

Glasses are not bad for your eyes unless you wear too strong of glasses which your eyes will adapt to. So called "eye yoga" does not improve your vision because the eye muscles do not determine what refraction error you have.
Furthermore, the eyes muscles cannot be strengthened. The ciliary muscles are the only muscles that contributed to focusing. These muscles are limited in movement by the flexibility of the lens. The lens flexibility is determined by proteins build up which turns into a more thick rigid lens as we age. This is called Presbyopia which starts to occur usually at age 40 and many usually requires reading glasses.
Therefore, no matter how much you exercise your ciliary muscles they cannot move beyond the limits of the lens nor can they actually get stronger. There is no need for our external eye muscles to be stronger either. They are 100 times more stronger than they need to be in order to move our eye!
Eye exercises can temporarily combat eye strain making your eyes feel more relaxed, but they have no affect your visual system.
Note: I get eye strain from reading and starring at a computer all day. I've tried eye exercises for years and they did not help my nearsightedness. However, I occasionally do them when my eyes feel really cramped in the morning or I've been starring too long at something.
