Yep it's normal... Don't worry it will shrink away over time =)
P.S.
Never heard of ANYONE getting stitches in thier gums after having teeth pulled. |

Normally, they put in stitches where the tooth was, so NO, it's not normal to have a deep hole there. |

Yup. But it usually closes within 24 hours.
Be sure no food rests are left behind when that happens or you will have unexplainable bad breath, and even get an infection from the rotting food. |

Go back to yur dentist - because you don't want that hole to close up with the rotted food still in it and get all infected |

yes, especially if they had to go under your gums to extract your tooth. |

yes.
you know how i know you're not taking your pain killers? b/c you worry about stupid crap like this. pop a couple of those pills and let all of your worries like holes in your mouth, your herpes outbreak, your girlfriend being a stripper drift away. |

It depends on how recently you had the tooth pulled. You should always avoid getting food near the extraction site for the first day or so. If it has already been days since you had the tooth pulled and it is still not healing, you should call your dentist.
When a tooth is pulled, a blood clot forms...if that blood clot becomes dislodged, you could end up with a dry socket which is very painful! |
