Sorry to hear about your pain. I do know that dental work is really expensive if you dont have insurance. Ameriplan health benefits does offer disount dental starting at $11.95 for an individual. It could help save you up to 80% and there are no waiting periods.

What most people don't know is that at the apex or the tip of the roots of teeth there's a little hole in each root. this is where the blood vessals and nervelines both enter the tooth to create the (pulp chamber). those vessals and nerves run through the roots to the center of your tooth. when a root canal is performed the dentist drills to the pulp chamber, then uses a small file looking thing called a barbed broach. as you can tell by it's name it's got barbs on the stem of the file that pulls the pulp from the tooth. also cleaning out the canals in the roots. then they will use actual mini screw like files to clearout any remailnig pulp. but what doesn't get cleaned out is the area below the root tip. you still have diconnected blood vessals and nerve endings below the roots of the tooth getting the root canal. so your tooth itself feels no pain after the root canal. what your feeling is pain below the roots of the tooth. antibiotics help but I've found that motrin is the best stuff on earth for tooth related problems. not a heavy pain killer but it is an anti inflammatory and it works best on teeth. |

Sounds like the tooth is re-infected due to not having the crown put on. Having the crown on keeps bacteria from getting inside the tooth. |

i had a root canal on my front tooth over 2 years ago and no problems. I couldnt afford a cap at the time and still havent bothered to get one. The dentist probably missed a part of the root and that root is infected again. |

You may either need a retreatment (having the root canal done again) or there is a crack/fracture that you cannot see. Sometimes, an adjacent tooth could be infected with possible referred pain. There is no way of telling until your dentist can get an xray. If you did not have a secure filling put in after the root canal 3 years ago (if not a crown), then bacteria will leak inside the canal and reinfect the tooth.
Good luck and i hope they can get you out of pain quick! |

hello.. u poor thing!! You dont have to put up with the pain!! You need to ring the surgery that provided the service and explain your problem.. U can request a copy of your records and xrays to get a second opinion.. In the mean time to get you out of pain you may need a course of antibiotics. The cap would prevent the tooth from becoming cracked because after RCT the tooth becomes fragile and weak. So it is possible there is a crack and that would cause the pain (You wouldnt see the crack in the mirror it is too fine) or perhaps when the rct was done they didnt remove all the nerve of fill the canals efficiently (xrays will confirm this) Good luck.. |

Because there is no crown on the tooth, there's nothing to keep food debris from getting in and causing infection. For $600 you should've gotten a crown. You may have to go to an Endodontist for retreatment with another RCT (root canal therapy). This sounds like a bad infection. I know dental pain and I feel for you. If you have anything to take for it, take it now. |

Try everything.. Ice pack. if not hot pack.. chewing on a clove helps and orjel helps too.. sometimes you have to wonder is it better off to just have it pulled .. so you go pain free.. good luck |

I have gone trough that one myself. I know you said it was a front tooth and so was mine. I had it pulled and had them make a partial for my missing front tooth |
