Im quite interested in working in the dentistry buisness :) Theres a course at college for dental technicians, (im a girl) i guess it doesnt really matter, but i was just wondering could anybody give me any information on this job ? thanks
if you know a dentist, you dont even have to do a course..they just hire you and train you.... i personally think its a boring job..8 hours in a dental clinic??? i'd rather kill myself

That's kind of a silly question! Women today can do pretty much everything that men can do (aside from things like playing on MEN'S sports teams).
All of the dental hygenists/technicians I know are women, so I'm also surprised that you consider it a male-dominated profession.
As far as finding out information on this career, why don't you do some research about it online? Find out the average yearly salary, job duties, expected time of employment after graduating college, etc.
Gotcha
My son-in-law is a dental technician and has his own business. He employs a woman technician.

Dentistry is absolutely not a man's job only. Women tend to have smaller hands which allows for more careful precision, plus let's be honest, nobody likes the dentist, and women are usually more compassionate and comforting than men are.
If dentistry is what you are interested in, by all means pursue it, don't let anyone or anything hold you back, that's what being a real woman is all about.
Hope I helped. :)

If i had it my way, you could do any job you wanted, but the world isn't like me, and i'm not in a position to change it.
I also don't know anything about the restrictions for women in the Denistry area.

"A dental technician is a member of the dental team who, with a written work order, produces dental appliances such as a removable prothesis, including dentures and orthodontic appliances, and fixed prostheses, such as crowns and bridges.
Dental technicians manipulate gold and other precious metals, dental porcelain and acrylics to custom manufacture dental appliances and indirect restorations that will exactly fit a patient. Dental technology is changing rapidly, with new materials and techniques to work with these materials gaining clinical acceptance. Such new technologies are CAD/CAM or electroforming.
There is a growing trend today for dental technicians to manufacture restorations which are metal-free, creating cosmetically aesthetic restorations with high strength."
and no it's not just a man's job. i don't think any job is. go for it!
