I think thats more of an old-time practice. Technically, it makes sense because the alcohol would seem to kill the bacteria but other than that I'm not really sure |

no there are carbs in alcohol. the bacteria in your mouth loves that stuff it feeds them and allows them to spew their acid on your teeth causing dental caries. |

No that will not kill the germs and bacteria in your mouth that normal mouthwash kills. Besides you will smell like an alcoholic and if you go to school or work smelling of alcohol you could get in trouble. |

I saw on Mythbusters where they made Vodka Mouthwash (and foot soak)...both worked well. Definitely don't swish and drive, but if you're legal, it's a pretty effective way to freshen up. |
