The cream stuff works, but it will take a while. Until it fades enough though, you could try using make-up. Use either cover-up, foundation, or that skin tone blender that you blot on to even out your complection. If you find the right tone, one that matches your complection, then you shouldnt see the scars-----or the make-up/cover-up. This should work because asking your parents for this kind of stuff wouldn't seem weird. If you have any on your wrist you could try wearing bangles or big bracelets. I really hope this helps! Good luck! |

You have several choices. One is to accept that the scars may last but do your best not to spend a lot of time thinking about it. Another is to wear long-sleeved clothing. The ones who could best advise you would be either a skin specialist physician ( a dermatologist) or a plastic surgeon for a consultation. Your parents probably know you have the scars even if they don't talk about it. Most likely they care enough about you want you to get an opinion from one of the doctors I just mentioned. Go to them and ask. Then, you could always consult with the school nurse in private and see if she can help. You have to deal with this matter somehow, sometime, getting over any shyness or embarrassment so that you can live a happier life ahead. |

Just wait, it should go away. If your parents see it, then lie, and say you cut yourself on something. |

well im sure your parents have already seen it since you said its noticeable. you should just go to the doctors with them and theyll give you something that works for sure. glad you stopped cutting btw. your lifes too precious<33. |

wait...are you saying that somehow everybody has seen your scars but your parents haven't? Or are you saying that for some reason your parents want you to be scarred??????? |

Try rubbing cocoa butter on the scars for 30 minutes a day. 15 min. in the morning and 15 at night. This helps to even out the skin tone and make them less noticeable. Also, wear sunblock so the scars won't get darker. |

Try putting some concealer on your arm if you wear a t shirt. They will fade eventually. I remember doing that and felt very stupid afterwards. |

There are certain plastic surgeries you can have to eliminate or diminish the appearance of scars. But, like you said, it would involve telling your parents. Honestly, if you're 14 years old, I really doubt that you're going to be able to hide your scars from them for, lets face it, a minimum of four more years of living with them. I don't know, you might want to talk to a therapist, maybe getting rid of the scars would help you move on because it does sound like it is bothering you. They make you feel guilty. |

there are some really good camouflage body makeups out there you could use which are waterproof aswell like sheercover...but for permanent scar treatment go on rejuvenuss.com..they use scar cream and/or silicone sheets to make the scars fade and go:) |

i used to that aswell, but lukily i odnt really have noticable scars on my arm, go in the chemist and just ask if they have anything other than what you have, just ask them for a something that helps fades scars and if they ask why just say u used to self harm and want to get rid of the scars, they dont need to no your name and wont tell your parents, and i do suggest telling them that u used to do it so they can keep an eye on you if u ever go down that road again, my parents no and they were fine, upset at first but helped alot.
Hope i helped, and im sorry i couldnt suggest anything else |

Hi, I use to cut as well. Two of my huge scars on my arms did not go away for two years, and theres STILL a faded mark however not as noticeable anymore. I'm happy to hear that you stopped cutting, you've come a long way. The easiest remedy that I can think of right now if yours are that bad put any kind of lotion on it first like neospirin and then put conclear, or foundation on the scar and rub it in a little obviously you, yourself will be able to notice where it is but to other people it won't be as bad.
Goodluck |

Hi, I was in your position too. I didnt cut as much, but its nothing to be ashamed about admitting to people. Obviously it was your way of releasing your tension and pain, but its good you have stopped.
I used something called Bio Oil (is that what you used?) I can honestly say it has worked for me, not only for those scars but for some scars I had when I had my moles removed. You wouldnt be able to see them now. If you havent tried this, give it a go, you can buy it in most chemists for under £10. You need to apply it roughly three times a day to get the most from it.
Or you could look into having laser treatment or permenant make up applied to them. This would only be as a last resort though as they can be horrendously expensive. Try the Bio Oil first.
Hope this helps. |

You can try using Merderma. You can buy it at any drug store. I used it for a really bad burn that I had on my forehead and it really helped it fade away.
I'm glad that you've stopped with your self harm.
Good luck to you. |
