Glasses help!?
I just got new glasses at a wholesalers,i returned them once for having the wrong material for lenses and they refused to put the cool greeny tints on them the second time round. just wondered if you can have these tints done somewhere else after the glasses have been made??
No - the tint is added to the lens material during construction so it is integral

It can be done as long as the lenses are plastic. Most opticians won't do it though. The opticians I worked for would not tint lenses bought somewhere else in case the colour went wrong. We would then have been responsible for replacing the lenses.

Take you frames to specsavers or any other decent opticians. They will make new lenses with whatever colour and spec you want, in what ever frames you have.

You can have tints added after the fact, but I'm guessing that the different lens material is the problem, not the store "refusing" to put them on. :) Plastic lenses tint well, but polycarbonate lenses don't. If you have special coatings added to your lenses like anti-reflective coating, you can't tint after the fact either. Take them to a local optical store and see what they say. They may be able to tint them.

That is ridiculous... they gave you the wrong material so they wouldn't put the antireflection coating on when they fixed it. That doesn't seem to make sense if you pay for a certain coating on your lenses you should get it. It is not your fault they gave you the wrong material (unless you changed your mind when they were already being made). If having the wrong material was at their fault I would go back there and complain to who ever is in charge..... see if they can do anything for you! It is technically possible to get the antireflection coating but your lenses will have to be in mint condition and some places may do it for you at your own risk.
