I need a vitamins for the eyes.?
i am 35 and wearing contact lence for a decade now and i am tired of using those lence but i am afraid of operation or laser, this is not a cataract, i might say that i am a nearsighted i felt about this since i was in highschool. I want to try to take vitamins to improve my eyesight. Any suggestion please...
They say Beta Carotene is good for eyesight, but I would think it's more for preventing problems than it is correcting already existing problems. Don't be afraid of the laser surgery! If it will fix your problem, be thankful for the technology!! I know people that have had the surgery and they all wish they had done it sooner. Just be sure to check out your doctor, make sure he's done the procedure tons of times. Google "is laser eye surgery safe" and you'll have plenty of reading material. The chances of coming out of the surgery with any damages are very slim. Go for it!!

i'm not sure what improves eyesight though i have heard of eating carrots (like an other poster wrote - beta carotene).
my grandfather (an eye surgeon) was against laser correction surgery because of the horror stories he heard about people's eye's collapsing because the laser surgery weakened the eye. (the airforce pilot(s) who's eye(s) collapsed from the g-force or something like that.)
then again its been close to ten years since he passed on, maybe the proceedure is safer now, though i'm pretty sure they still do not recommend flying shortly after the proceedure.

You cannot use vitamins to improve your eyesight. It's impossible.
Nearsightedness and farsightedness are caused by the eye being elongated or contracted. It actually changes shape. The lens can also change shape too, but this is less common.
Either way, no amount of vitamins can "change the shape of your eye back."
Unfortunatly, laser surgery is your best option if you don't want to wear glasses or contacts. There's not much else you can do.
