i've got to perform in a school play in about a month and have got the worst throat infection, blocked nose and painful ears. is there anything that i can do in order to make my thraot better and stop coughing every 3 minutes????

try bactidol antiseptic gargle. my doctor prescribed it to me when i have this sore throat and really couldnt talk much for 5 days accompanied by cough. I was also prescribed with an antibiotics, but that I think you must ask your doctor.

Sounds like you may need to see your doctor to get some antibiotics. Other than that, as regards your blocked nose and painful ears, you could try some Sudafed decongestant tablets. They cost about Â£3 from Boots and are very good. Also if you get some Vick vapor rub you can not only rub it on your chest before going to bed, but inhale it by putting a bit in a bowl of hot water, cover your head with a towel and breath in through your mouth. Or you could just take a hot shower before bed - the steam helps ease your chest and throat- and then have a nice cup of hot milk and honey. Honey is a natural antibiotic as well as being soothing. Get well soon and good luck with the school play.
