why will you lose your voice now and not before? Why don't you go to Doctor and tell him/her about it and get a few tests done this could be caused from alot of stuff, and it could be treated if needed.

No, I don't think you will loose your voice, but if you are a smoker, you are probably have chronic bronchitis. It is diagnosed by coughing up flegm for two months of the year in a two year period with chronic coughing. If you smoke and have been chronically coughing, STOP smoking, go see a doctor. It is important to have your heart and lungs examined. This many not be a lung problem but a heart condition that is developing that can simply be treated with medications at this point. If you wait to long you could end up having to have surgery.
