What is wrong with my lungs?
Last year I started experiencing a wheeze. I can feel the excess of mucus move in my lower left lobe of the lung. I got it checked out and my xray came out normal. i also had other tests showing that my response to exercise is normal, heart is normal, oxygen uptake is normal, co2 exhaled normal. and a NEGATIVE asthma test!! This year it has started up again...same place..same annoying wheeze.
I am only 22 and I feel healthy..I have discomfort in this area of my chest but my doctor cant find anything!!! even when i got it checked out recentyl!
I do have scoliosis...my rib cage is slightly inverted, lowering my lung capacity a tad. Could it be related to this? I am really worried.
I dont really know but here is a great website on lung related stuff-http://www.564l.com

Mucous production can cause a wheeze. I wouldn't be too concerned because mucous is needed to remove all the crud that you breath in. If your doctor says everything is ok then I'm sure it is. Having scoliosis, especially where your lungs are at could be a factor as well. How bad is your curve and where is it?

I have the same thing, except it's my lower right lung. At certain times of year, I get a wheeze that I can feel and hear when I laugh or take a deep breath. i can also feel it if I put my hand over that area of my chest. It's occurred over the past 4 years, but only at that certain time of year. I've figured out that it is related to allergies because I have somewhat increased post nasal drip at that time of year. It's not that noticeable, but sometimes when I cough, the wheeze will disappear.
I worried about it at first too, thought I must have lung cancer or something else. But it hasn't gotten worse, it goes away for months at a time, and my breathing is just fine. It's annoying but shouldn't cause a problem for you, especially since all your tests have come back normal.
You could probably take allergy meds at that time of year, but they have side effects, and if you're tolerating your mild allergies without any other difficulties, you may just want to be sure and take deep breaths on occasion and give a cough to clear the wheeze on occasion. Of course if it gets worse you'll want to return to the doc.

It could very likely be anxiety, some people don't even know that they're stressed and experience nothing but "mild pressure" on their chest. Try googling symptoms of anxiety and see if they sound familiar, if there is no physical cause it could very well be your bodies response to stress, which can happen when your happy

Since it's the same time around again, do you think it could be some kind/form of allergies? Check out when it happens and around what or if it's constantly.

hmm try to find a triggerr... for instance i have cold exercise induced asthma... i can walk in the cold no problem. but the minute i start to run in the cold i start wheezing.. altho in the warmer days i have no problems running what so ever.. how "slight" is the scoliosis.. bc honestly really really mild scoliosis is actually quite common and shouldn't be causing the problem. Perhaps every time you start having problems you should write down what you were doing any other details you could think of. Don't give up. Keep looking. Seek another doctor perhaps a specializing one.
