It can be hereditary, yes. My family has a history of asthma. I have asthma, however my parents do not. A few members of my extended family do have asthma though.

asthma can be hereditary. You can have asthma and have children with or without it, or you may not have asthma and your kids do. It can go both ways.

Yes
NIC
Yes, unfortunately asthma is hereditary, like allergies. No cure is found yet as it is difficult to find the genes causing these problems as there is no single specific gene causing it but several combination genes. So the only way now is to control it and prevent it from occurring.

I'M sorry to say YES!!!!!! my mother had it my grandmother had it BOTH died from it!!! and I have got it too!!! but luckily i had been able to do something about it; let me explain it might help you too!! get an ALLERGY test done, it could provide a part answer { several factors here} it could isolate Your trigger to an attack!! get an inoculation program set up, that what i (luckily) needed only by the way i also nearly died when 3 years old, mine was Bronchial asthma! which back in early 1950 was a baaaaad! thing to have, try that, be warned expensive treatment worth it. p.s don't forget your children one day too should have it checked
