I'm not sure about the procedures you've mentioned as I have never had to go through either, but perhaps you might want to purchase the book Anatomy of the Spirit by Caroline Myss or You Can Heal Your Life by Louise L Hay, as a companion alongside traditional medicinal healing. I wish you luck. L

Do not get bothered, by it. Be positive. At least, you know, your fate. Most of us, even do not know it. You will better-off, if you can, lovingly embrace the fate. I suggest, read Osho, on meditation. (Not any religious preaching). Enjoy life. Think of those, who meet untimely death, without even having a clue.

Surgical removal of the kidney and after that oncologist shall decide weather you will be on chemo or not .
Becca
Surgery first. Whether or not you need chemo would depend on the stage of your cancer. Meaning, how big the tumor is, if it is encapsulated, any cancer in the lymph nodes, any distant metastases.
Sometimes kidney cancers can be quite large and still be encapsulated and not spread. Many are curable, depending on stage at diagnosis.
Good luck to you!

I wish you well there maybe chemo, or radiation. or maybe they would remove the kidney any way you will still be able to live with just that one side. If they decide to do chemo Hello baldy no hard feeling been there my self just think positive and take it day bay day. try not to borrow problems from something you have no control of live life live happy, blessing to you.

I would think they would remove the kidney, the tumor, maybe some renal vein (if the tumor has invaded it) and maybe some lymph nodes (just to check them). You will probably have chemo and radiation, but every type of kidney cancer and every stage are treated differently. Make sure you aks LOTS of questions and don't be afraid to seek a second opinion. Good Luck!

Talk to the people at the cancer society. They can connect you with people who have been diagnosed with what you have and they can tell you what to expect. www.cancer.com

The good news is that all humans have 2 kidneys, so if they have to remove 1, you'll be able to live. My brother in law had to have 1 kidney removed--not from cancer but because it was damaged--and he's actually doing great. He feels great, and is healthy.
The only issue is that you'll have to follow a very healthy diet, and you wont be able to consume lots of things like soda and alcohol because you only have 1 kidney. Your kidneys "flush out" all the poisons from our body--so since you'll only have 1 kidney--it wont be wise to overload your body with things like alcohol, cigarette smoke, soda, etc. If you overwork that 1 good kidney, then you're in real big trouble, because then you'll have to go in Kidney Dialisis, which is awful and totally messes up your daily life.
Be happy that you have Kidney Cancer. There are some people on this site that have awful, really bad cancers. Peace.
