I think I may have a better explanation. There are many factors that can and do increase the risk of cancer. Social habits--overweight being #1 and smoking/drinking #2. Hereditary factors such as a family history of cancer. And enviornmental factors such as job related exposure to chemicals and radiation.

There is no exact reason it happens, but we ALL have cancer cells. For some reason some come into contact with a carcinogen to that person, and those abnormal cells begin to grow at a faster pace, into a mass, causing a tumor.
Each of us have carcinogens and cancer cells. We are basically loaded guns waiting for the trigger.
My daughter's cancer was genetic. She didn't need a carcinogen. The theray is she recevied a cell from her dad and one from her mom. Those two together caused her genetic cancer. She had Bi-lateral Wilms tumors. When it is contained to one kidney, it is believed to be enviromental. When the cancer is multiple tumors, is in both kidneys or more places, it is believed to be genetic caused by unidentified cells from both parents. Bi-lateral means BOTH kidneys or more.
You do not need a carcinogen to get genetic cancer.
