I knocked my head yesterday quite hard getting into a taxi. did not collapse. could something be wrong?
it was about 13.50pm on 20th. as mentioned b4 i didn`t collapse or anything. i spoke to nhs direct last night and they said it was quite minor. still feel giddy occasionally and head feels bit wobbly sometimes too. could there be something wrong? don`t fancy going to hospital as i`ve got 3 young children and no one to look after them. Additional Details It was the top of my head. How soon could something really serious like the coma bit happen?
Don't go to the doctors, they diagnose wrong, just go hospital

If you feel sick, they do recommend a hospital visit, I've seen it on all real medical programmes, if there's no one that can look after your children, then you might have to take them with you, honest if you're experiencing sickness and bad balance go to your local A&E department. xx
If you don't your condition may worsen, and that will be worse for your children to see than a hospital visit. xx

Bad head injuries are usually associated with vomitting, if they are bad enough go the ER, if not rest will do and I mean complete rest, call in sick for a few days and lie in bed, don't read, watch movies that don't require a lot of brain involvement. Did you hit the front or the side? Side HIs are a lot worse than frontals.
They'll want ot keep you awake every hour all night to ensure you don't lapse into coma, but really, you need to sleep for your brain to mend.

It could be minor concussion which should recover with a bit of quiet and rest , not that easy with 3 young children
If you get any other symptoms like blurred or double vision , or vomit you really should go to hospital to be checked and maybe x rayed . If the symptoms start to clear it should be fine in a few days , From what I hear about NHS direct they are about as useful as a chocolate fireguard , It is just s ruse to divert patients from proper treatment . Mind you far too many people do go to casualty for very minor problems

With any head injury if you are concerned get it seen to by a doctor immeadiatly.

youve probably suffered a touch of concussion, this may explain the giddyness and wobbly this normally happens if you hit your hard. Your probably also shocked for doing it. this will sometimes send the body into overdrive. I think maybe for now maybe take some painkillers and rest for a few days. If your still not feeling 100% or feel worse then just go to your local GP just to give you the once over.

Best plan is to see a doctor as you shouldn't take any chances if you have banged your head. Phone NHS direct back and explain that you have been feeling giddy they have been known to make wrong assumptions on peoples health in the past. Better safe than sorry
