Is it possible to bruise a muscle or soft tissue, with out seeing a bruise on the skin?
I fell snowboarding on my hip. The hip bone doesn't hurt, it is the muscle that is just above it, but there is no mark. I haven't gone to the doctor's since it costs too much, but I don't see anything and except when I am using that muscle, it doesn't hurt.

that has happened to me many times. sooner or later that soft spot will become a bruise and a big one. it will just take a while b/c i guess it bruises more tissue.
p.s. its gonna hurt for a while. good luck =]

OMG I did this exact thing. The "old folks" called it a stone bruise according to my dad. Give it a week or 2 and it will be fine.

Yes, you can bruise inner muscle tissue without it showing on the surface.Muscles are all banded together like a spool of yarn and sometimes you will bruise the interal muscle between the outer area.This happens especially when you have a muscle extended at the time of impact.Do stretching exercises and gradually extend the muscle little by little pausing in between. This will help to release the knotting of the inflamed muscle and help to heal the bruising quicker.
