If you get paint thinner in your eyes, will you instantly be blind?
I am just wondering how long it will take before you damage your eye. Additional Details I have not personally spilled any in my eyes lol...
Actually this guy I know was telling us a story lastnight about himself getting paint thinner in the eye and he is a constant liar....so I was just curious to see if he was telling the truth.
If he didn't wash it for long time [ 15 minute ] at least he will have complications
Miguel H
You have about 30 seconds to start flushing the eye(s) with water... and flush for at least 15 minutes... then go to the Emergency Room or your eyedoctor immidiately.
Henry C
Obviously, you will not instantly go blind. Also, a splash of paint thinner in your eyes will cause no permanent injury, provided you immediately begin flushing your eyes with water. Flush for 5 - 10 minutes. Your eyes will probably be red and sore for a few hours, but if there is no pain and your vision is fine, you are good to go. A trip to the doctor at this point would be a waste of time and money. If pain persists or your vision blurs, then go to the ER immediately.
p.s. If you are really concerned, simply read a can of paint thinner-- there are instructions for what to do for contact with eyes.

No, but it hurts like he double l!!! Rinse asap, and go see your optician

It will not take long for the chemicals to begin damaging the eye...if you have not done so:
GET OFF COMPUTER AND RINSE YOUR EYES...then
GET TO THE ER.
Chemicals can cause serious imbalance in the eye and can 'burn' the outside portions of your eyes. This is serious.
