I certainly hope so. We still are in the dark about how not to get it. Is it an your genes?.. your food?... the air?... the water?... There are quite a few unanswered questions about the disease. I pray a cure is found soon... at least in my lifetime. After seeing 3 aunts die from it and my Mom suffering with it now... I need more info and solutions.

i don't know if they can ever cure cancer permanently, but i feel if the Government will change the Health Care System and Insurance for the lower/middle class income families to where they can seek treatment early for cancer it will decrease in time..alot of people don't seek help early when they are sick mainly because they have not insurance or there Insurance won't pay well enough...like myself i have medicare but i still can't afford to go to the Dr. when i get sick cause i can't afford to pay the bill before my deductable is met and then after the 20% medicare don't cover. it is hard on limited income to survive this world and the Government keeps handing out money to other Countires when people need help right here..

There are more than one type of cancer. Some of the cancers have cures already. If caught early, most cancers can be cured. I had Prostate cancer, and had my prostate removed four years ago. I am now cancer free. I pray to God that a cure for all types of cancer can be found soon. People are researching, and I am sure the cures will be found in the near future.

I don't think so. In fact, the cure rate for solid tumors actually has not improved in the last 40 years.

The difference today is that we can detect cancer earlier and treat it earlier when it is more curable. But, unfortunately, your chance of dying from more advanced cancer is the same as it was in 1960.

On the other hand, we have made excellent progress with blood cancers like leukemia and lymphoma. For example, Hodgkins lymphoma and many childhood tumors have cure rates over 90%.
