Regarding your question about quiting smoking. First of all consult your doctor. Depending on your health condition it is better he talks with you. It seems that the nicotine patch works well and some also use gum. Vitamin C is good to take as well as drinking orange juice it helps to cleanse your body of the nicotine. I am not a smoker and have not been a smoker but have studied neutrition.

The nicotine patch is probably the best, because it is a sustained release mechanism and should curb any urges you may have to smoke.

Depends upon the patient and what other medications they are on and what other health issues they may be dealing with as well and if they are ready to quit smoking. Part of quitting smoking is to stop the habits of smoking. I have been there and done it and the habits of smoking are really hard to stop as well as the nicotine addiction. Alll of these issues should be discussed with the patient, the family who lives with the patient and the physician. All of these factors play a big role in helping beat this addiction. And I won't kid you one bit.....IT IS A TOUGH ONE!!! I stopped smoking Feburary 22nd, 1987 at 1:37 pm and I still have cravings. They are not as strong and are not as often, but I still have them. Most of the time, I don't even know what it is, until they are gone. But I am so glad that I stopped!!! Best wishes to you or whoever is going to quit smoking!!
